Opportunity:

Coal Car Studio is looking for an experienced Producer to help us drive the development of Fruit Golf, our original IP multiplayer asymmetric virtual reality game.

In collaboration with Team Directors, you will oversee short and long term production goals; scoping tasks, tracking progress, troubleshooting roadblocks, and motivating the team to reach their highest potential. You will be an integral part of our launch strategy, and help us scale up production towards our exciting 2023 release date. In addition to the above, you may have the opportunity to contribute to other immersive media projects on the go at Coal Car Studio.

This is a full time contract with an opportunity to transition into a permanent position, with flexibility for a hybrid or fully remote approach. Preference given to those who live in Vancouver, Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Tracking team tasks using Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Tracking major deadlines and creating work-back plans
  • Assessing potential risks, roadblocks and recommending creative solutions
  • Facilitating communication across internal teams (Design, Art, Technical)
  • Supporting stand-up and all-team meetings
  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of project budgets
  • Supporting with grant applications and funding reports
  • Attending partnership development meetings
  • Applying for promotional events and organizing demos
  • Supporting with marketing materials, press kits, and social media
  • Providing feedback and recommendations for streamlining production processes

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certificate, diploma, and/or bachelor's degree in Game Design, Arts, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of work experience
  • Previous production or project management experience in gaming or tech environment
  • Experience working with VR/AR is an asset, but not necessary
  • Proficiency with Git version control in a multi developer team environment an asset, but not necessary
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Willingness to remain up-to-date on latest project management software and workflows
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver on deadlines

Founded by two brothers, we know that games are not only about their single player experience. At Coal Car Studio, we are betting that the future of VR will be social. VR doesn’t have to be an isolating experience. Discovering new virtual reality is awesome, and we want to create a safe space to be able to experience these worlds with your friends and family. Using innovative technologies and game play mechanics we will shatter the stigma around virtual reality needing to be an isolated experience to be immersive and bring the joy of couch co op back into mainstream gaming culture.
